Will Shuri Become Black Panther?will shuri become black panther

The kingdom of Wakanda is a little bit different now as it has been revealed to the world. The first Black Panther movie introduced us to T’Challa, the original Black Panther.

Unfortunately, Chadwick Boseman the actor who played the Black Panther passed away in 2020 due to a terminal illness.

But what about the second movie? We have a lot of questions about the next movie Black Panther Wakanda Forever, and we want to know if Shuri will become the Black Panther in the second installment.

If you’re a die-hard Marvel fan you would know that certainly, the comics have pointed to something similar.

Clues That Show Shuri As The Next Black Panther

There is enough evidence both in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the comics to suggest that Shuri could take on the role of Black Panther.

The writers of Shuri for the MCU have portrayed her character in such fashion and she has already once taken up the mantle in Marvel’s Comics.

Shuri is one of the smartest people in the Marvel cinematic universe as she is also an admirable scientist. She has helped to develop some of the most powerful weapons in the MCU and is an expert on the Wakandan culture and history.

In the Black Panther movie, Shuri was the only person who could help T’Challa to understand his heritage and true purpose. She is also the one who taught him how to use the Vibranium-powered suit to fight against formidable foes.

One of the most intriguing clues is the fact that Shuri has been a part of the story since the beginning. So there is already a stronger foundation for Shuri than any other character to carry the mantle of Black Panther.

It is important to note she was the one that taught the Black Panther how to use the vibranium suit. She is the one that is most familiar with the suit’s technology and how to practically use it in a real-world environment.

The bond established between Shuri and T’Challa in the first Black Panther movie gives greater context to her future role in the MCU.

Passing the Torch

Shuri, played by Letitia Wright, has had an important role In the MCU since she was the princess of Wakanda. Due to her closeness to the crown, many have suggested that It will be Suri who will be succeeding the throne after T’Challa.

There has also been a push by Disney to promote the character of Shuri in In the latest Lego franchising deal with elaborate lego sets for the Wakandan Princess.

If so much importance was given to the character, It would not be surprising that she already had a larger role to play In the upcoming Phase 5 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Shuri Becomes Black Panther In The ComicsShuri becomes black panther

In the comics, Shuri played a similar role and ended up leading the Wakandans against Norman Osborne. During this time Black Panther was in a coma and there was no one leading the great nation of Wakanda.

Although initially, Shuri had rejected the position claiming she was way too arrogant for the prestigious title of the Black Panther.

Later on, she changed her mind seeing the suffering and impending doom that were to follow after Norman Osborne’s attack on Wakanda.

Such clues give us insight into the possibility of Shuri becoming the next Black Panther. So to fans asking if she really becomes the next black panther, It would be a dream come true and we know how Marvel understands the importance of fan service.

Namor vs Aquaman Who Came First?

Namor vs Aquaman Who Came First?

The fanbase of DC and Marvel have always argued over who was the stronger character but not everyone knows who appeared first in their own comic book universes. Aquaman and Namor are two somewhat similar characters from two of the most known comic book companies.

The question fans ask when they discover both superheroes is “who came first?” Before we get to know the answer to that question we have to know about the origins of each character and which one would win in a fight!

Namor Origins

Namor the submariner

In the 1970s when comic books first went from pulp to popularity, Marvel Comics introduced a new character to the world of comics called Namor the Sub-Mariner.

Namor was created as the prince of Atlantis whose motives were surrounded around the well-being of Atlantis. He is shown in the comics as an anti-hero whose decision might sometimes be considered polarising, to say the least!

In the comics, he was initially a member of the Inhumans, but he later left to be on his own. Namor was also a prominent member of the Illuminati but in the MCU he was not included in the team.

The aquatic superhuman was raised in the city of Atlantis as the prince, and he was a warrior for his people against the surface dwellers.

Aquaman Origins

Aquaman of Atlantis

In the DC comics, Atlantis was destroyed by the warlike people of Krypton, but the heroes left behind managed to escape with a few things, such as a golden compass.

It’s said that the golden compass points to the lost city of Atlantis, so its discovery gave birth to the character of Aquaman. On their journey to find Atlantis, using the compass, Arthur came to know of his true purpose in the DCEU.

Aquaman was the first part of the Justice League and has already been introduced to the audience in the DCEU. Aquaman also has his highly anticipated second solo film coming out in late 2023 titled Aquaman and The Lost Kingdom.

Who came first Namor or Aquaman?

The origin of each character has been debated in the past. While some have claimed that Namor’s creation preceded Aquaman’s, others believe that Aquaman is actually the older one.

Namor was created in 1939 by Carl Burgos and Mort Meskin, but he first appeared in comic book series titled Marvel Mystery Comics #15 in July 1940. He was later given his own title, The submariner.

Aquaman, on the other hand, first appeared in comic books published by DC in April 1954. The story, written by John Broome and George Pérez, featured the debut of the Mer-Man character and was titled The Secret of Atlantis.

There are four main arguments in favor of Namor’s creation being the first. These include the fact that the name of the Sub-Mariner is similar to the name of the Aquanauts, the similarity between the Undersea King and the Earth’s most famous mermaid, Nessie, and that the Sub-Mariner appeared in the Famous Frolics of the Undersea World in 1938, which predates the Aquaman by seven years.

A Versus Between The Two

Namor vs Aquaman who came first

There has been a cross-over event of DC and Marvel Characters in the past. In it, Aquaman defeated Namor by calling a whale and having it land on Arthur. So in the comic book timeline, there is a clear winner.

The interesting thing is how both would fare in their cinematic universe cross-over. Depending on how they portray Namor in the upcoming Black Panther Wakanda Forever, Namor might have a slight edge over Aquaman.

In reality when considering Namor vs Aquaman, whoever came first would also have a slight edge in originality and Namor was the original ruler of Atlantis.

Namor Villain or Hero?

Namor Villain or Hero?

Namor villian or hero

Namor has played an important role in the comics and with his upcoming appearance in the new Black Panther movie, the question arises around Namor, would he be a Villain or a Hero?

His adventures include being a member of Marvel’s Invaders while being one of the fierce rivals of Wakanda as a whole. Even as far as being a member of the notorious Illuminati and having run-ins with The Fantastic Four in the Marvel comics

Hybrid Ancestors

In the Marvel comics, Namor the Submariner was born on the coast of Atlantis in the Antarctic. His mother was the daughter of Emperor Thakorr and his father was a sea captain. Although his father, McKenzie was unaware of the fact that his mother, Fen, was a spy for the Atlantians.

Fearing that Fen’s cover had been blown, the Atlantians attacked the Oracle and killed Namor’s biological father. He was soon to play an important role for the Atlanteans.

The aquatic superhuman was raised in the city of Atlantis as the prince, and he was a warrior for his people against the surface dwellers. He met Betty Dean, a New York City policewoman, in New Jersey, and the two became good friends.

When World War II came around in history, he joined the Axis forces.

Good or Evil?

From what we know Namor is most likely to be portrayed as a villainous character in the upcoming release Black Panther Wakanda Forever.

Namor was teased in Avenger’s Endgame by alluding to unusual seismic activity in the deep ocean so fans are in for a ride as Wakandans are in to face one of their strongest adversaries. That too in the face of the death of T’Challa actor, Chadwick Boseman, who the Director has no intentions of recasting.

Namor has big shoes to fill as an antagonist as he is succeeding Killmonger, one of the better villains portrayed on-screen in the MCU.

The two nations of Wakanda and Atlantis have had some history with one another in the comics and it is for this reason that fans believe Namor will find an opportunity in the absence of the Black Panther T’Challa to attack.

What sets Namor apart from his peers is his status.

While he is a controversial figure, it’s difficult to label him a definitive hero or villain

It would not be wrong to predict his role as an anti-hero in the upcoming Black Panther movie. Similar to older characters such as Bucky, the character may start out as evil and may be on the side of the good by the time the plot reaches its climax.

With the history between the aquatic kingdom and Wakanda however, it would not be surprising to see political motives drive the hedge between the two nations.

Most of the time, Namor does what he does, either good or bad for the benefit of his people. This has led a lot of the Marvel characters in the comics to show respect towards Namor, who may be portrayed as an anti-hero, similar to the likes of previously introduced characters such as Wanda and Loki. Such anti-heroes allow for greater character development and deeper plot lines.

ConclusionNamor

So would the ruler of Atlantis Namor be a villain or hero in the latest installment of Black Panther? With the evidence we have right now, it would be safe to assume that Namor would be displayed as a villain in the upcoming movie.

However, fans should be in for many surprises as the movie is succeeding as one of Marvel’s most iconic blockbuster hits. With the untimely demise of Chadwick Boseman, it would also be interesting to see how Namor would fit in the existing MCU timeline.
